FNA Supports Charities
"To better prepare ourselves for the nursing profession and to better acquaint ourselves with hospital techniques," cited Sue Lane '63, president, in response to the question concerning the purpose of Future Nurses' club.

Plans included a field trip last February 10 to Forest Mental hospital, and a spring weekend trip to the County hospital, where the girls will stay in the nurses' quarters. The club also intends to donate money to some charity.

In the past, FNA has done charity projects such as making stationery envelopes for veterans and place mats for hospitals. Last year they donated $10 to a charity known as the "Lending Closet." Every year they have a bake-sale which, Sue implies, "is always a big success".
Frequently they have speakers from specific areas of nursing. Recently Mrs. Montenero, from Forest Mental hospital, spoke to them.

Dues of 75 cents a year are used for a banquet in the spring to initiate the new officers. This year's officers are Sue Lane '63, president; Peggy Sistek '62, vice-president; Betty Coffman '62, treasurer; Marianne Sanzone '63, recording secretary. Sponsors are Mrs. Lorraine Kalbfel and Mrs. Frances Ringl, co-sponsor.
