Seniors Register for AQE

To interested seniors the U.S. Air Force has granted permission to take the AQE Airman Qualifying examination at Maine West in B-202 on February 24 from 8:45 to 11:30 a.m. This test is given at no cost or obligation to the student. "Seniors desiring to take this test," emphasized Mr. Ken Cochrane, college counselor, "should see Mrs. Kozlow in the personnel office by this Friday, February 16.

The AQE, which is required for entrance into the Air Force will give an idea of the student's probability of success in four areas. These areas are administrative, mechanical, general, and electronics. Some sub-topics for testing are speeded operations including clerical matching and numerical operations, pattern

comprehension, interpretation of data, general mechanics, work knowledge, mechanical principles, electrical information, figure recognition, and technical information.

Scores in each area range from 1 to 95. The Air force requires a certain minimum score for entry into specific career fields, but even if these scores are not attained, the test is a good ruler for measuring the student's potential ability in those fields, which might help him decide upon a career outside the Air Force.
