Cindermen Hit No. 28
Lengthening their two-year undefeated record, the Warrior thin-clads defeated Taft, Austin, and powerful Glenbard East in their first three meets of the year. Defeating Austin of Chicago 95 to 5, the trackmen captured eight firsts and eight seconds, almost completely shutting out their Chicago foes. Running the 880-yard run for the first time this season, Lee Wolf won with an excellent 2:07.8. In the distance events the Warriors captured all three places. For the second time Warrior high jumpers Dan Rowe and Paul Erickson tied for top honors. Don Nixon vaulted 10 feet 10 inches, winning for the second straight time this season.
"Too close for comfort," was Coach Joe Jobst's comment after his varsity track team edged out Glenbard East, 47 1/2 - 52 1/2. Mike McClane led the triumph by taking first in the 50-yard dash, third in the broad jump, and then running with the victorious 4-lap relay squad. The Warrior cindermen captured six firsts, and eight seconds.

Last Tuesday the Warriors slipped past Taft 53-47 for their third straight victory.
