A paperback‑book fair sponsored by the Student Council and supervised by Mr. Dale Marshall, math teacher, will take place March 12. During the book fair, paperbacks will be sold every period and before and after school. Following the fair, books can be purchased only before and after school and during lunch periods.
The purpose of selling paperbacks at Maine West is to open a new field of reading to students and to fulfill the demand of books due to the increasing reading habits acquired by West Mainites.
Cabinets supplied by the book distributors can be opened t o form room-like enclosures in which students can browse.

Students will be required to pay for any paperback books in their possession upon leaving the enclosure.
Different books will be delivered each week, and non-saleable ones returned. Approximately five copies of each faculty‑requested book along with certain standard titles of distributors will be sent to Maine West. The distribution company does not send books of questionable taste.
The paperback book store will offer a choice of approximately 1,000 titles to students. Books needed for classroom use will still be sold in the regular book store in order that paperback sales will not conflict with A‑102.
