Sal De Falco, called the "little powerhouse" by his teammates on the gymnastics team, is this week's Warrior of the West.
"Little powerhouse" refers to his comparatively small size and endless supply of energy. He is constantly working out with weights and works from the beginning of practice to the end. He never likes to waste a minute when he has the opportunity to develop himself.
He first tried out for the gymnastics team when he was a sophomore and says, "My biggest thrill at Maine West was when I made the team." Sal was Captain and Most Valuable Player of the sophomore team that year.

Sal placed fifth in the Conference meet and qualified to enter the District meet; he then qualified to enter the State meet with a high place in the District.
When asked what he does in free moments, Sal reported "Gymnastics is all I do in my spare time. Whenever time permits I go to the YMCA to practice."
Sal has gained recognition for his muscle tricks and his agility on the side horse and the still rings. He always draws applause when he holds an Iron Cross on the still rings. Sal is the high point man on the gymnastics team and he has earned 163 points in previous meets this season.
