"Young people throughout the United States are anxious to serve in areas of need. They are asking, as the President suggested, 'What can I do for my country?' rather than 'What can my country do for me?'!" quoted Mr. Ralph Caprio, English teacher and counselor.

As special consultant to Mr. Robert Kennedy, the Attorney General of the United States, Mr. Caprio is working on this problem. Many suggestions have arisen and the Attorney General is now looking into the possibility of forming a Domestic Service corps patterned after the present Peace corps program.

The Peace corps is an organization which was started at the beginning of the Kennedy administration. Thousands of men and women have volunteered their services since then to work in host countries. Purposes of the Peace corps include helping people in other countries achieve rapid development, giving Americans a chance to meet people from around the world, and helping other nations to understand the United States and her people.

The Domestic corps is expected to get on its feet within the next year.
