'Pep' Subject Of Phone Discussion
Caught "Talking it up" on the telephone, a staff reporter heard these comments and wrote them down to present to the readers.
Barb Georgans '63, captain, thinks, The freshmen are really enthusiastic, but they follow the example of the upper classmen; so, if the upper classmen are enthusiastic, everyone will be! Barb has been a cheerleader at West for four years.
Since there are so many students at Maine West, there should be better participation at the games, was overheard in the conversation of Patti Kargas '64, who is starting her third year as cheerleader.
Another third year veteran, Nancy Merret '63, was overheard to say, Our team needs school support and the backing of the entire student body.
Donna Meier '64, professed, The cheerleaders try to promote school spirit, but the students have to help us carry it out. Donna is serving her second' year.
As Sue Hume '63, expressed it, The school should turn out better for the games, and we should be able to hear those that are there. Sue speaks from two years of experience.
Two-year veteran Nancy Hulke '64, declared, We can never run out of school spirit. We appreciate the pep that we receive at all the games.
The general opinion of the cheerleaders concerning our school is that it's tops and the pep is better than ever this year.
