Coach Olson is entering his 20th season as head coach of Maine football teams. He spent his first 16 seasons coaching at Maine East, and is now entering his 4th season at West. During this period of coaching, Mr. Olson has coached Maine football teams to 123 victories, 30 losses, and 3 ties. Considering the very tough conferences the Maine teams have played in throughout the years, this is an excellent record to say the least.
This year's squad has seven returning lettermen with four of them composing the starting backfield. This veteran backfield along with two outstanding ends give the Warriors a very potent offense. According to Mr. Olson, the interior line is very inexperienced, but they are improving very rapidly and will improve even more as the season progresses. Coach Olson stated that the team has a good attitude and displays a lot of hustle.
Coach Olson thinks that Morton West will be the toughest team in the conference, but the Warriors will not meet them since they are in the other division. Prospect will most probably be our toughest opponent.
Coach Olson's final comment was that, "We will improve as the season progresses, and we have a very good chance to capture the Interim conference championship."
