Intramurals Offer 4 Class Trophies

Offering all boys a chance to apply their athletic abilities in an organized sport program at Maine West, this year's intramural program, under the direction of Mr. Miley Hotchkiss, is now under way.

Competition exists between gym. classes and boys in the same year of school. Patches are awarded to everyone on the first place team and to winning individuals. "This year," according to Mr. Hotchkiss, "a point system has been installed, and the boy who gains the most points during the year will be awarded a trophy. A bronze medal will be awarded to the boy who is runner‑up."

Intramurals offer any boy who is not on the roster of a current interscholastic sport the opportunity to participate in athletics. This year badminton, a free‑throw contest, water polo, and an outdoor track meet have been added to the activities previously used.
