Students Voice Many Requests

Dear Editor:
It is a shame that more interest is not shown in student council elections by Maine West students. Although a tremendous effort is put forth by many students to arouse interest in elections, many Mainites seem to feel that their votes do not count. Anyone who has ever run for an office or appointment realizes this is not true. Every vote counts. One vote can be the deciding factor in an election. Whether or not the correct person receives that vote can determine if the job is going to be done well.

School elections may not seem important, but they are a definite help in learning to exercise the right to vote in national elections in the future.

Concerned

Dear Editor:
The spirit shown by our students for the past two weeks at pep assemblies and games has really been wonderful. It's about time. I only hope that this spirit will continue throughout the year. Victory is nice, but spirit should not be aroused just because of triumph. It should be with us at every school event we attend. Let's make a sincere effort to keep up the present spirit.
