One of the newest additions to West is Miss Geri Harnish, business education teacher. When asked about Maine West as a school, she replied, "I admire the genuine interest that students and teachers take in all subjects that they participate in." She added that she couldn't be happier at any other school. "Maine West has an exceptionally friendly atmosphere; even the security policeman adds to this atmosphere."

Miss Harnish graduated from college with honors, and received a Bachelor of Science degree. When at college, she was the treasurer of her sorority. Through her sorority, her interest in sports was nurtured. She now enjoys participating in volleyball and basketball, and also watching sports. Among the sports she likes to watch are gymnastics, football, and basketball.

During the summer she enjoys being outside. Such activities as waterskiing and swimming make up the majority of her summer fun. She plans to go to Florida on her summer vacation.

Miss Harnish also listens to classical music, and looks forward to future school music programs. Next semester she will be a co‑sponsor of the business club with Mrs. Rosella Dieter.
