Golf Begins On April 11

"We have a good chance to be among the leaders this year," was Coach David Henry's answer concerning his varsity duffer's chances. Aided by returning lettermen Mike Greene and Ken Miller, plus hopefuls, Blenner, Kautter, Pemoller, Ross, Wasmund, and others, the Warriors promise to have a solid team and a lot of depth.

Last year the Westmen finished what was their most successful season to date, as they came up with a 9‑4 season record and an 8‑2 conference mark. The Warriors also finished second in the conference meet behind undefeated Glenbrook. "Glenbrook," according to Coach Henry, "again will be our toughest competitor."

On April 11, the varsity Warrior's first meet will be away at Thorngate, against Deerfield.

According to frosh‑soph Coach Gene Zuccarini, "There were a total of 28 boys out for our first practice. We have returning lettermen Craig Erven and Clyde Rowells, and if we can find two or three more boys Who can shoot in the 80's, we'll have a very good squad."
