Thinclads Capture Fifth In
All-Conference Meet

West's thinclads captured fifth place in the Interim Conference track meet by scoring 17 points. The meet was held at Morton West, Saturday, March 16.

Bruce Congalton was high scorer in the meet as he placed third in the high hurdles and fifth in the low hurdles Bob. Tatge obtained the Warriors' highest place as he copped second in the high hurdles. John Schneider, Al Klehr, and Paul Neuman all placed fourth in the meet while LeRoy Schlegel, Congalton, Hank Blenner and the four‑lap relay team of Schlegel, Mike McClane, Neuman and Klehr placed fifth.

On Wednesday, March 13, the cindermen beat Glenbrook by a score of 56‑44. LeRoy Schlegel was high scorer with 10 points. Warriors taking first places were Al Klehr, broad jump; Bob Tatge, high hurdles; Mike McClane, 50‑yard dash; Schelegel, 440‑yard dash; John Schneider, mile run; and the four‑lap relay squad of Schelgel, McClane, John Frana, and Klehr.

The harriers will compete in two major relays in the near future the Evanston relays, March 22, and the Oak Park relays, March 30. On March 26, the Warriors will venture to Crystal Lake. The team hopes to duplicate the 95‑5 victory scored over the Lakers last season.
