Teachers Ride Again
Saddle up! Hear the jingle of spurs, the thunder of horses' hoofs, the creak of saddle leather as the riders mount for the presentation of Pegasus club's fourth annual horse show.

The show is to be presented on Friday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m. at the Idle Hour stables, located at 8600 Higgins road, Park Ridge. About 28 Maine West students will compete for ribbons and trophies, demonstrating their finest riding skills. "The evening promises to be entertaining for not only those who are familiar with horsemanship, but for anyone who enjoys stirring competition, athletic contests, and skilled horsemanship," assures Judy Bogacz '63, president of Pegasus club.

Exhibitions Are Added Feature

An exciting addition to the show will be the exhibitions. A racing pony, "Sum-Dum-kid", will be exhibited complete with harness and sulky, and a professional riding instructor will give a jumping exhibition.

Following the presentation of flags and a formal exercise drill, students will compete in intermediate and advanced classes including games, pairs, equitation, and a costume class.
Competition in the costume class requires a rider to create and display an original costume for herself and her horse.

The first-place winner of the advanced equitation class will be considered the club's outstanding rider and awarded the coveted challenge trophy. The student must win the trophy twice in order to retain permanent possession of it.

Spectators will especially enjoy the teachers' class, in which Maine West faculty members compete for ribbons by participating in games and relays. Some of the teachers who will be riding in the show are Mr. Ed Atkinson, Miss Barbara Bovenmyer, Miss Dawn Butler, Mr. Ralph Caprio, Miss Corinne Clark, Miss Carol Coffman, Miss Carol Duthie, Mr. George Greene, Mr. Daniel Holbrook, Mr. Wallace Hommerding, Mr. Charles Lawyer, Mr. Vern McElwain, Mr. Don Magseman, Mr. Gerald Royer, Miss June Thompson, and Mr. Eugene Zuccarini.

Students, their friends, and their families are invited to see the show. Tickets costing 25 cents per person will be sold at the door; programs will be free. The show will be held indoors, rain or shine.
