Deep Mystique, the Junior Prom, is to be held in the cafeteria and the social room on May 11 from 8:30 to 11:30.
Junior class president Phil Hway, who has doubled as prom chairman, expresses confidence in the committee heads. Committee chairman for the Prom are Kathie Benson and Peg Johnson, refreshments; Dick Nedwed, decorations; Karen Rivard, publicity; and Donna Wolf, bids and invitations.
The theme for the prom is an underwater dream‑world. Dick Nedwed, assigned with the task of decorating, is carrying out the Prom theme in decorations. "The decorations for this year's Prom are quite complicated and different from those of the usual prom," commented Dick. "Decorations will help make the prom an evening to be long remembered."
Assisting Dick on the decoration of the "hallowed halls" are Pam Barry, Jan Bocskay, Betty Gano, Marty Muncy, Tom Alles, Jim Carley, John Heckel Wayne Johnson, and Neshian Keshian. "Although much of the work is already done, the assistance of any interested juniors the night before the prom and the morning of the prom will be greatly appreciated," announced Dick.

Val Enggas, Fran Renk, Anita Steinert, Eamon Anderson, Wayne Johnson, and Scott Weidner worked with Donna Wolf in completing the tasks of the bids and invitations committee.
Invitations were given to all members of the Junior class. Junior class homeroom teachers, parents of the class officers, parents of the committee chairmen, and the administration, who are all to be guests of honor, received invitations.
Refreshments are under the supervision of Peg Johnson, vice‑president, and Kathie Benson, secretary of the class. Cookies, punch, and hors d'oeuvres are planned. Under the watchful eyes of Neshian Keshian and Ardes Buckley the hors d'oeuvres are to be made.
Another attraction at the Prom will be photographers. Furnished by Mr. Gerald Royer, The Westerner's faculty sponsor, the photographers will take pictures of couples at the Prom. Handsomely framed reprints of these photographs will cost two dollars each or three and a half dollars for two.
Phil Hway commented, "Our Prom will add an enjoyable memory to our successful junior year."
