Tri‑S Will Hold Annual Honors Tea

The social science department will bestow history honor awards and membership in the Historical society upon 45 students at the Historical Society tea on May 23 at 3:30 p.m. in the social room.

The highlight of the occasion will be the announcement of the "Best History Student of the Year" by Mr. Otto Kohler, chairman of the departement. A written American history examination was taken by all of the initiates; the seven students scoring highest of that exam were given an essay test. The person writing the best essay test will be given a $25 savings bond donated by Tri‑S. In addition, the second and third place winners will be given honorary pins. The seven finalists are John Borzoni '64, Bruce Carlson '64, John Gabbert '64, John Gauger '64, Don Grundler '64, Rick Johnson '64, and Phillip Engle '65.

The tea will be sponsored by Tri-S under the direction of Mrs. Alice Aegerter, Historical Society sponsor; Barb Sigalove '64, Tri-S president; and Mrs. Lois Hill,

sponsor of Tri-S. Other club officers assisting in the preparations are Jill DuClos '64, Sharon Geach '64, and Lyric Olson '64.

The newly selected members of Historical society are junior girls, Judith Bales, Pam Barry, Maureen Beaudette, Kathie Benson, Diane Clarke, Karen Colberg, Terri Lynn Doremus, Loret Egelston, Carol Harper, Judy Nixon, Penny Ropace, Carolyn Sangster, Karen Strudthoff, Janet Virostko, and Karlene Weber.

Junior boys, John Borzoni, Bruce Carlson, Don Deese, Dave Gulick, John Gabbert, John Gauger, Don Grundler, Davis Hall, James Hatfield, Jeff Higgins, Keith Johnson, Rick Johnson, Cal Lewis, Dan O'Connell, Joe Panegasser, John Parker, Leo Plas, Tom Rhoden, Henry Schank, John Wentzell, and Richard Wills. The sophomore initiates include Randy Dean, Phillip Engle, Dennis Grant, John Grimes, Stevie Karina, Ed LaPointe, Ronald Sebastian, and Mary Wright.
