Seniors Girls To Be Awarded

The Annual Awards dessert, which will take place in the Maine West cafeteria on May 23, at 7:30 p.m., is the highlight of the year's activities for the GAA.

All members and their parents are invited to come ito this annual event. The girls who have earned participation points will be honored by receiving their awards. The most coveted participation award is presented by the Illinois League of High School Girls' Athletic associations for 300 hours of participation.

This year five senior girls will receive the award. The girls are Lynn Holm, who is president of Maine West's GAA, Kay Van Alsburg, Maria Salazar Pat Stein, and Fran Toay.

The girls who made the highest achievement in each team sport activity will receive awards denoting all‑star selection. Members of the girls' tennis team will be honored, also those girls who were victorious in the badminton, tennis, and archery tournaments. Gymnastic awards will be presented to the winners of the gymnastics meet for the first time.

Lynn Holm will serve as toast mistress for the Dessert. Refreshments, entertainment, and installation of officers and cabinet members are included in the evening's activities.

The climax of the evening will be the presentation of the service awards trophies. The name or names of winners are kept confidential until the night of the Dessert. All the girls greatly anticipate this announcement.

The charge per family for this worthwhile event is $1.
