Homecoming Activities Fete
Communications for Theme

Building floats, having a Homecoming dance, and choosing a queen are only part of what is known as HOMECOMING. It's important for everyone to really take part in the annual Homecoming. It is one event during the year when everyone is welcome to participate in any way possible.

This year's Homecoming for Maine West is scheduled for Friday, October 19. (Our team will play East Leyden at Maine East). During halftime the queen, who has been previously elected by the entire student body, will be crowned. She will preside over the annual Homecoming dance, one of the school's biggest social events of the year, on Saturday, October 20.

For Homecoming to be a success, everyone should work on the floats. Every class and some of the organizations within the school are represented by floats which coincide with the respective theme. This year's theme for the floats is "Communications." A great deal of fun and satisfaction comes from helping out on these colorful and unique floats.

Participation is the key word for this or any Homecoming. Without the participation of the students, Homecoming hasn't any meaning. There's much to be done within the next week and everyone should join in on the preparations.

Let's make this the best Homecoming in the history of our school!
