"We have a good chance of winning our remaining games and tying for the conference championship," claims Gene Ciezadlo, this week's Warrior of the West. Nicknamed "Cizzle" by his lockermates, Gene is playing in his second year of varsity football.

During the spring, Gene can be seen rushing around third base, swatting down line drives for Coach Al Carstens' diamondmen.

Gene has earned two letters in baseball, and has already earned his second letter in football. His greatest thrill was earning a letter in baseball during his sophomore year. Gene is again looking forward to a conference title for this year's baseball team.

Big Gene stands 6 feet, 1 inch tall and carries 175 pounds on his well‑built frame. In Cizzle's opinion, turkey and pizza are ''tops."

After graduation from Maine West this year, Gene plans to attend Dartmouth college to major in chemistry.
