This week's Warrior of the West is capably represented by Rick DeKreek. Rick has just finished playing end on the football team and is now ready to open as the starting guard on the basketball squad. Rick has one letter in both basketball and football, and he will be working for his second letter in basketball this season.

During his last two seasons on the football team, Rick has raced for five touchdowns with every one of them being called back because of a penalty. Rick's biggest thrill came when he tossed a game‑winning, double‑reverse touchdown pass to Al Waters in the closing minute of the game against Glenbrook.

Rick, who stands six feet and weighs 165, thinks that the varsity bucket squad has a good chance to capture the conference championship this season. Rick's interests include most all sports and his favorite foods are lobster and pizza.

At the completion of high school, Rick plans to attend college, but he has not made a choice as of yet.
