The date: December 17, 1962

Everyone is listening to his radio when suddenly a news flash interrupts the program.

"Attention, attention all students of Maine West High school! Bob Young '63, president of Boys' club, has announced the opening of the Boys' Club Christmas Post office. You can send Christmas cards to all of your school friends at Maine West or Maine East for an unbelievably low price of one nickel for every two cards sent. Just think! You won't have to pay a lot of money for stamps because they aren't necessary. All you have to do is write your friend's name and homeroom code number

on the front of the envelope. If you wish to send any cards to Maine East, just write "East" on the envelope plus the receiver's homeroom code number.

The Christmas cards will be delivered during homeroom every day by the members of Boys' club. If everyone sends his cards early, there won't be any difficulty in getting all of the cards distributed to the homerooms by December 21.

Conducting this postal service for the two schools gives the Boys' club financial help toward many worthy projects under taken every year.

And now I return you to the regularly scheduled program."
