Father Time will soon be making way for New Year's child, and with it will come many, many New Year's resolutions. I know you will be making some of your own with full intentions of keeping them; but New Year's resolutions are only promises to yourself, and promises are so easily broken.
Along with Auld Lang Syne, noise makers, and pink champagne, resolutions are all part of the traditional way of welcoming in the new year. Many people will promise to do this and resolve to do that, without the slightest idea of the commitment they are pledging to themselves. Within a short time, these resolutions will be completely forgotten until next New Year's eve.

Everyone should be serious for just a few moments during this hectic holiday season and make just one resolution a resolution they know they can keep all year long. Do not make a promise that is impossible to keep, or one that won't do you any good. Just make one promise to yourself and resolve to keep it.
I am going to resolve to do my homework more often than I do. If I promised myself that, I would never let a day go by without doing my assignments. I know that promise would be broken before the year was over. With only one pledge to worry about, I am sure that my full attention can be dedicated to this problem.
The year of '63 can come in with a bang, or it can slip by hardly noticed. How about you? Will the new year be a repetition of this year, or will you make it the best yet?
