Staff Apologizes!

To the Editors:

We the staff of "The Ten Commandments" wish to apologize to the editors of The Westerner and to the faculty and students of Maine West for presenting in the April, 1962 issue of this paper misleading information as to the future of our film. We firmly stated that it would be completed by the close of the '62‑'63 school year.

Now, seemingly through our own fault, no deadline will ever be met. That film will never be. We would like to tell you why.

Learning that it was impossible to mix filmmaking with school work, we concluded that outside help was necessary.

We made the mistake of holding a firm belief in others and trusted that this help could be obtained from professional organizations. It could not.

However, our worst mistake was in laying the only hope for such a film upon this belief in others. We took a great chance and we lost.

We would, however, like to thank the many, many students who gave us their time and effort in order to help us try to complete this project. We search for words to tell you how we tried, but there are none.

Sincerely, The Staff
