The forest is silent.
The town is still.
All is hushed and waiting
Waiting until ....
A church bell peals
Its joyous strains,
Carolers sing
Their glad refrains.
"It's Christmas! It's Christmas!"
 The bells seem to say.
"A time for peace, A time for peace."
