This year during Christmas vacation, Maine West's varsity basketball team will travel to Proviso West to participate in the Proviso West Christmas tournament.

The Warriors' first game will be against Larkin High school of Elgin. The game will be played on the Proviso West court at 6 p.m. on December 26. The remaining games will be played the 27, 28, and the 29.

Elimination will determine the winner, with the champion having to win all four of the games it plays. There will also be consolation games for the teams that lose their first game.

Other teams participating and their opponents for the first games are: Glenbard West vs. Morton West, Niles West vs. West Leyden, Downers Grove vs. Proviso West, Highland Park vs. Maine East, Niles East vs. Glenbard East, Forest View vs. Hinsdale, and East Leyden vs. Riverside‑Brookfield.

Directions to Proviso

Head south on Mannheim to Roosevelt road, Route 30a. Turn right (west) on Roosevelt. When you reach Wolf road, turn right again (north). The school is a short distance north of Roosevelt road on Wolf.
