Activities Keep John Busy

You may have seen sketches, paintings, or other pieces of art in the main entrance hail created by John Aegerter, but there is more to the story of this five‑foot ten‑inch, brown‑haired, brown‑eyed senior boy.

John is now vice‑president of the Senior class and has been on the Student Council for three years. He has also been on the "A" and "B" honor rolls, Boys' club council, and is now playing varsity basketball. He was one of four delegates to Boys' state last summer and also won a scholarship to an art camp for one week during the summer of his sophomore year. Recently he was selected for the SAR award. He is now working on the Senior prom as Decorations chairman.

To a question on his pet peeves, he replied that he vehemently disapproves of "little bows in a girl's hair" and "cold weather." The "lack of integrity, perseverance, and adroitness in the American youth today" also bothers him.

His favorite foods are kumquat juice and pig's knuckles, and his favorite subjects are art and French. John explains that he has arranged his basement into a studio where he paints in his spare time.

John very bluntly affirms that his most embarrassing moment was "this interview." He was quick to give his outstanding memory of Maine as "the waterfall that fell joyfully from the ceiling in C wing." After being asked how it feels to have his mother Mrs. Alice Aegerter teaching history at West, John remarked, "Well, it's a way to get to school!"

In the future, John intends to further his education in the area of art education.
