Thinclads Run In 4‑way Meet

The track men will venture to Oak Park tomorrow afternoon to engage in a four way meet. The teams competing are Oak Park, Morton West, Phillips, and the Maine Warriors.

January 23, the thinclads went against Schurz of Chicago in their first meet of the season and came out the winners by a score of 59‑41. John Schneider, distance man, was the top scorer with two victories. He ran a 2:06.8 half mile and a 4:56 mile.

The 440 yard dash was the strongest event for the thindads with LeRoy Schiegel and Hank Blenner teaming up with a first and second, respectively. Both relay teams were also strong, both turning in victories. The four‑lap relay team was possessed of Don Andrews, Bernie Braun, Mike McClane and Schlegel. The mile relay squad was composed of Braun, Ronnie Fritz, Bob Biggs and Chip Kranik.

Other tracksters winning their events were Bud Ziehn, high jump (5'8"), Larry Pintuck, pole vault (11'0"), Al Klehr, broad jump, (19'5") and McClane 50 yard dash (0:5.7).
