Davis Hall '64, brought new honors to himself and Maine West in the recent Voice of Democracy contest. Competing for the first time in the Veteran of Foreign Wars competition, Davis won first place in the city of Des Plaines.

The trophy seen in the photo is the award given by the VFW, Des Plaines post. In further competition Davis took first place in the district meet and is now entered in the state finals.

Participating in the contest were Jackie Piraino '64, and Mary Gembicki '64. Both girls are varsity debaters and placed high in the city event. The contestants were coached by Mr. Eric Edstrom, debate coach and social studies instructor.

In addition, the contestants recorded their scripts.
