John Excels In Science

"I've been working on the radio, all the live‑long day."

"Ahem. Pardon me, but I am looking for John Schafer. I have an interview with him here. Now."

"What was that?"

"Forget it. That, ah, song didn't you change the lyrics somewhat?

"Yeah, but they fit."

"Why's that?"

"I do all of the basketball telecasts over WMTH. I've worked on the station for the past four years."

"That's funny."

"I don't see any humor in it."

"Well, I guess not. Ah, what are you doing?"

"I'm taking the relative humidity in the hall for science seminar."

"Hmm. Are you in anything else?"

"Well, as a matter of fact, I belong to Brotherhood society, have gone down‑state with a science project, and have won a Future Scientist of America award.

"Whew! Are you sure you didn't leave out anything?"

"Oh yeah; I spend a lot of time in my darkroom at home."

"Yes, well, where do you plan to attend college?"

"Either John Hopkins or Illinois University."

"Well then, which year did you like best in high school?"

"My senior year, because I'm finally getting somewhere."

"Did you do anything swingin' over the summer months?"

"I worked in a physics lab at the University of Chicago, if you would call that 'swinging'."

"Good grief! It's 4:15; I gotta go."

"No kidding."

"Hey, all, what did you say your name was?"

"John Schafer."

"What?"

"Forget it!"
