The track team will venture to Evanston after school today to take on the Wildkits. They will risk their 3‑0 dual‑meet record against a tough foe. Evanston was the team which ended the trackmen's perfect record of 32 wins last season.
In the Niles West meet (held January 29), the Warriors were victors by a score of 65‑35. The thinclads captured nine of the 12 firsts. Bob Tatge won the high hurdles in a time of 7.2. Leroy Schlegel finished first in the 50‑yard dash in 5.7 and the 440 in 56.1. Bruce Congalton swept over the low hurdles in 6.6 to gain top honors. Al Klehr won the broad jump with a distance of 19 feet 11 inches. Larry Pintuck cleared 11 feet to win the pole vault. Dale Luzinski won the shot put with a toss of 45 feet 51/2 inches. Tatge won the high jump by clearing 5 feet 8 inches. The four‑lap relay team of Schlegel, Don Andrews, Klehr, and Mike McClane also took a first place.

In the Oak Park quadrangular, Pintuck took the only first for West and Klehr the only second. The Warriors finished third.
Win Over Taft
In the Taft meet, February 7, the Warriors captured seven firsts to win by a score of 62‑36. John Schneider, Hank Blenner, and Schiegel took the three distances, the mile, half mile, and the quarter mile, respectively. White won the low hurdles and Luzinski took the top spot in the shot put. The four‑lap relay team of McClane, Andrews, John Frana, and Klehr won as did the eight‑lap team of Chip Kranik, McClane, Blenner, and Schiegel.
Only two trackmen remain undefeated. Schlegel in the 440, and Pintuck in the pole vault. Pintuck is out of action presently with a torn leg ligament.
