MAINE WEST'S JV basketball team will be in search of their eleventh win in a row tonight, when they meet Proviso West on the Panther's home court. Undefeated since the Christmas holiday, the quintet has recently dumped Prospect, Forest View, Glenbard East, and Wheaton. High scoring honors in these games have been divided between Jim Smith and Ray Bartholamae.
THE JV WRESTLING squad finished their season with a winloss record of 5‑6 as they placed eighth in the conference competition. In recent meets they were "nosed out" by Wheaton 29‑17, and they beat Glenbard East 24‑17. Rosenburgh recorded the only pin against Wheaton, and both he and Di Motteo of West pinned in the Glenbard hastle.
THE "FANTASTIC" SOPHS are at it again. The sophs are on top of the conference standings after nine consecutive conference wins. The cagers boast a 11‑1 record for the year. With only two games remaining. Stoney Jackson leads the squad with 178 points, or a 15‑point average.
TOMORROW MORNING the sophomore matmen will meet Prospect for their last meet of the season. The match will begin at 9:30 and is at Prospect. The little Warriors are boasting a 93‑1 record as they prepare for their final meet.
FREE‑THROW CHAMP for the soph intramural tournament was Bob Kuhn who connected on 42 out of 55. Sherman Schuett walked off with the frosh title with 34 out of 50.
WINNING TEAM in the intramural basketball competition for the sophomores was Mike Kuzich's team. Roy Todd's team captured the honors for the frosh title. Both tournaments were double elimination. On the frosh roster with Roy were Jim Langdon, Mike Malloy, Mim Mathieson, Dales Miles, Rich Russel, Rop Tipton, and Bob Turner. Also playing for the sophs were Mike Caradonna, John Gable, Doug Hans, Bob Kuhn, and Mike Neese.
