Three Wrestlers Qualify for Sectional Meet
Jensen Takes 1st in District

Maine West will be represented tonight in the State‑Sectional Tournament by three varsity grapplers; Dick Jensen, Allen Mullen, and Bill Kribble. The meet begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Palatine gym.

Jensen, nicknamed the 'Dominator', won first place at 95 pounds in the State-District Tournament held at Prospect last Feb. 15 & 16. Dick also ended the regular wrestling season with an undefeated record of 14-0. More remarkable than this is that he allowed only two points to be scored against him all season, while at the same time he scored a total of 106 points against his opponents. Allen Mullen took a second place in the 103 pound class. In the semi-finals he edged out Caine from Maine East to qualify. Bill Kribble, who took a second in the 127 pound weight

class, beat Mike Walker of Palatine in the semifinals in a match that took the attention of the entire crowd. Walker went down state last year and was rated best in the districts this year.

Rich Battles, Tom Lenhart, and Ed Reidel all took third places in the tournament. While Lenhart won by default over Gage of Maine East in the 133 pound class, Riedel pinned Ryan of Arlington at 145 pounds and Battles pinned Boertz of Forest View in the heavyweight division.

The grapplers took fourth place in the district meet as a team, also ending their season in the fourth spot in the Interim conference following a loss to Wheaton 28‑13 and a victory over Glenbard East 22‑19.
