Toth Rated A Great Guy
"Doctors' building. Good afternoon."

"Nurse, I would like to talk to Doctor Emmet."

"One moment please."

"Dr. Emmnet speaking."

"Doctor Emmet, I'm a reporter on The Westerner, and I would like to talk to you about John Toth."

"Oh sure. Great guy that Toth. What would you like to know about John?"

"Well to start with, what do you remember about John while he was at Maine?"
"I seem to remember that John was an exceptional student. He once told me that he was interested in math, science, and English, but science was his first love."

"Didn't he receive an award in science as a junior?"

"Yes, he did. It was a first place award in the Illinois State Science fair. John loved science; he was going to go to Northwestern after he graduated to major in chemistry."

"It seems to me that John showed great promise as a writer, didn't he?"

"Yes, that's very true. As a matter of fact, he received an award in English. I believe it was from the National Council of Teachers of English achievement; he was one of the 870 students in the country who received such an award."

"Do you remember anything special about John, Doc?"

"The thing I remember most about John is that he portrayed me in the Senior class play. Another of the things I remember about him is the answer he gave a reporter when asked what his pet peeve was. John replied, 'I used to have a pet peeve, but he got rabies and had to be put away.' That John really was some guy."
