Ovalmen Bow To Proviso W.
After knocking over Glenbard East last week, the varsity trackmen ran into difficulty with Proviso West Tuesday when they came out a nine point loser, 45 1/2 to 54 1/2. Points were lost in the pole vault, high jump, and shot, while the runners held up well in most events except the mile and half mile.
Coming in first in the 50-yard event was Schlegel with 5.7. Klehr and Neuman took first and second in the broad jump. The distance was
19 feet 10 1/4 inches. The four-lap relay team with Frana, Klehr, McClane, and Schiegel took first in 1:17.5. Krainik and Schneider took seconds in the 440 and mile, respectively.
In the eight-lap relay, Blenner, Krainik, McClane, and Schlegel came in first with a time of 2:47.2. Neuman was second in the high jump while Rosenbergh took third in the shot and Taylor was third in the pole vault. Tage and Dautel came in second and third in the low hurdles.
