Al Mullen Loses 1st Match;
Jensen Injured in Practicer
An injury to Dick Jensen two days before the state meet destroyed the Warriors chances of taking a first place in the 95-pound weight class in the state tournament held in Champaign on March 1-2. Al Millen was the only other Warrior to qualify for the meet.

Jensen, who took a first place in the state qualifying sectional meet, went unscored upon in the sectional competition. Dick was the only undefeated 95-pound wrestler in the state. Dick broke his leg in practice two days before he was scheduled to wrestle down state. His overall record, which includes his tournament matches, was 20-0. He had only four points scored against him all season, while he racked up 120 against his opponents.
Al Millen, who wrestles in the 103-pound weight division, qualified to go down state by placing second in the sectional tournament. Al was beaten in his first match at Champaign by a score of 5-2. The boy that beat Al for first place in the sectionals with a 4-2 double overtime victory, went on to take the state championship at 103 pounds.

Both Dick and Al are juniors and have another year of wrestling to look forward to next year.
