Warrior of the West

Bill Kribble, nicknamed "Tiger Fred" by his teammates, is the 127‑pound grappler on the varsity wrestling team.

Twice a letterman in wrestling, Bill has also lettered in football. Bill finds that "Not dating during the wrestling season and being in by 11 p.m. on off‑season dates helps me improve my wrestling capabilities." Bill took a second place medal in the District wrestling tournament and was beaten 2‑0 in the Sectional meet by the boy who went on to take first place in the competition.

When asked what he thought of the wrestling team's progress this year, Bill mentioned, "Although this year's team was the best yet at West, there was still room for a lot of improvement. We were hurt several times by sickness and injuries, but with the aid of the eight returning lettermen, I feel Maine West will get their first conference championship trophy next year."

Hong‑Kong Butterfly steak and prime‑ribs are among Bill's favorite foods. Bill's hobby is tennis, while he also enjoys progressive jazz and thinks that Cannonball Aderly is the wildest. His major pet peeve is "People who don't like to ride in 1952 Plymouths."

Bill plans to attend Simpson college near Des Moines, Iowa, where he intends to major in business administration. He also looks forward to wrestling in college.
