OK, But Step on Your Feet
No, don't let her sit on your lap . . . sure the buses are crowded, but the idea is to get up and offer her your seat, not your lap.

Riding the buses can be made much pleasanter by full co‑operation from everyone. This means that you should move to the rear of the bus, talk in a normal tone, and listen to the driver.
Most students walk only on the bottoms of their feet. This doesn't mean you can stand on the tops. Getting on and off the bus seems to be the main problem. If you are in such a hurry and have so much energy, why don't you run to school? You'll probably beat the bus there.

One more thing, if you happen to be one of the unfortunates who does not beat the mob for a seat, hang on to the rail, you aren't that short.
