AROUND THE CAMPUS
Diane and John Attend Boys' and Girls' State
Davis Hall '64, who attended Northwestern's summer speech school, was awarded an attractive gold trophy for outstanding work. . . Tim Redmer '64, attracted much attention when he ran 50 miles from Woodstock to Des Plaines in less than nine hours. Tim is a member of the track team and writes a weather column for a local paper.

Nancy Bowen '64, Joyce Ermeling '64, Betty Gano '64, Christine Haarvig '66, Dave Humphreys '65, Karen Larsen '64, Bonnie Odden '64, and Marta Riser '64, participated in youth music organizations this summer. Betty and Christine were at the U. of I. at Urbana; Nancy, Joyce, Dave and Karen were at Illinois Wesleyan; and Bonnie and Marta were at the National Music Camp at Interlochen, Michigan, where the orchestra performed at the National Education Association Convention in Detroit, July 4.
John Gauger '63, and Diane Clark '64, represented Maine West at Boys' and Girls' State, respectively. The boys from high schools throughout the state met at Springfield and the girls at Jacksonville. For one week the participants practiced democracy and set up a state Organization.

Sandy Bouda '65, and Sharon Geach '64, were chosen to represent Maine West on the Wieboldt's Fashion Board at Randhurst. The girls will be modeling for a six month term, which will include a fashion show in November . . . Jean Mead '64, participated in several tennis tournaments and earned six trophies. The tournaments were held at Glencoe, Oak Park, Des Flames, Park Ridge, and Chicago.
