Clubs Add Variety To School Life
Each year Maine West offers the opportunity of joining a club to all students who are interested. Although a complete description of each club and its purpose may be found in the Maine West Handbook, many students fail to recognize this. On the other hand, the overambitious student joins all the clubs he can and consequently leaves too small a margin of time to devote to each club and to his all‑important job of studying.

Clubs provide activities that suit the students' particular interests outside the classroom. They are not meant to interfere with schoolwork nor are they simply to join and then be forgotten.
By joining one or two of the clubs listed below, a Maine West student may find a new experience of working with others for the sheer enjoyment and enrichment of his personal interests.

Organizations which are now open to all students are the Art Club, Audio‑Visual Service, Boys' Bowling Club, Boys' Club, Chess Club, Coin Club, Dance Club, Future Nurses Club, Future Teachers Club, GAA, German Club, Girls' Bowling Club, Girls' Club, Good Words Club, Home Economics Club, Industrial Arts and Design Club, Key Club, and Latin Club.
