Debate Team On TV Again
"This year's debate team has been very successful. We are very proud of our teams," boasted Mr. Eric Edstrom, the debate team coach.

"Our frosh‑soph and junior varsity teams are very near the top in rank. We also have one frosh‑soph team undefeated and another one very close to being undefeated," announced Mr. Edstrom. This year Maine West will be represented very well in National Forensic League by 25 members.

Robert Reinhardt '65, will be participating in the Illinois State High School District Debate Tournament competing against teams in the northwestern suburban area. This will be held tomorrow at Forest View High School.
On March 14th the Maine West debate team will host the Suburban Interstate Debate League. Members on all levels will be competing. Over 200 debaters will be here to debate the topic of "Medical care in expanded Social Securities Program."

One of the most thrilling events of the year will be on March 21st when the Varsity Debate team will be on television. Mary Gembicki '64, and Tim Zijewskl '64, will debate the affirmative side of "Presidential Succession" against Thornton Fractional South on CBS at 2:30 p.m.

As a fitting close to a fine season, the debate team will end its seasonal activities on May 15th with the third annual Debate Award Tea.
