Musclemen Start Districts
The Maine West varsity gymnastics team will travel to Arlington High School this Saturday to take part in the Arlington District Gymnastics meet.
In their last two outings, the musclemen lost a tough meet to the Prospect Knights in the last dual meet of the year, 74 1/2 -57 1/2, and last Saturday the Warrior gymnasts placed third in the Mid-Suburban League Gymnastics meet. Against Prospect, the Westmen were only able to get one first place, this coming in the side horse event, with Tom Roessing picking up his 14th first place in a row.
Roesing lst in Conference
In the Conference meet, Roessing also led the Maine West team with the only first for the Warriors. Terry Bishop placed second on the high bar, Stealy Branch placed third on the trampoline, and Fred Bach took a third place in the tumbling event.
The regular season for the musclemen is over, and the gymnasts finished with the first winning season for a Maine gymnastics team event. The Westmen's record was eight wins and seven losses.
