THE MAINE WEST JUNIOR VARSITY basketball team has concluded its season by winning the last three games they have played. They beat Glenbrook North 64-58, Morton West 55-38, and Deerfield 51-40. The starting line-up in these games was Don Kinder and Charlie Curren at guards, Tom Hendrickson and Chuck Peterson at forwards, and Ted Wolters at center.
THE SOPHOMORE BASKETBALL team won its fifth Conference game of the season by slipping by Glenbrook North 54-53. The Warriors took the lead in the last forty seconds of the game when Jim Burson capitalized on a free throw and put the game on ice for the Warriors. Center, Dick Kruse and Jim Burson led the Mainites with 16 points a piece.
THE FRESHMAN have also split their last two games of the season. They defeated Glenbrook North in a low-scoring game of 37-34, but were defeated by Deerfield.
The starting lineāup was Dick Marry and Mark Romnes at guards, Al Fritz and Bob Cozad at forwards, and Jeff Reinke at center.
THE SOPHOMORE TRACKERSTERS made their seasonal record four wins and one loss, by losing to Evanston 82-18 on February 21st, and swamping Niles West 87-13 on. February 27th. In the Niles West meet, Jim Cassinelli, Ray Todd, Kevin Flurkey, and Phil Martin helped the team as they all turned in excellent performances in their respective events. Other thinclads helping the team are sprinters Vern Ray and Ron Harrigan.
