Trackmen Beat Niles West, 64‑36
The varsity squad split in its last two meets. Against Evanston on February 21st, the thindads lost 70 2/3 to 29 1/3. On February 27th, the ovalmen came back with a 64-36 win over Niles West. Thus far, the thinclads have 3-2 record.

The Niles West meet started with Bernie Braun coping a third place in the broad jump. West tied the score in the high hurdles, as Bob Tatge and Bruce Congalton finished first and second, respectively. The tracksters fell behind in the 50‑yard dash as Paul Neuman was beaten at the tape to take second place. The Westmen jumped ahead by shutting out Niles in the half mile. Lloyd Schegel, Bob Biggs, and Russ Suzzko finished in the top three spots, respectively.
Niles Ties Score

Niles tied the score with a first in the shot put. Dale Lusinski and Bill Rosenbergh finished second and third for West. In the 440‑yard dash, the thinclads took the lead again and never lost it as Pete Schafft and Chip Krainik captured the top two spots. Congalton, Tatge, and Earl White shut out Niles in the low hurdles by grabbing all the points. In the mile run, John Greco and Tom Johnstone finished second and third behind a Niles runner.

The ovalmen cinched the meet by capturing the first three places in the pole vault. Larry Pintuck, Herm Zelk, and Phil Dindinger placed first, second, and third, respectively. Neuman and Phil Engle finished second and third, in the high jump, and the meet ended with the :8‑lap relay team of Biggs, Braun, Schafft, and Schlegel nosing out Niles for first place.
