Jesus Christ Rose on Easter
Easter is a happy time. Everyone goes shopping for the apparel that he will wear on Easter Sunday. There are beautifully colored hats topped with birds, flowers, and fruit in all the store windows. Pastel colors dominate window displays of clothes, Easter eggs, and the general decor of Easter time. It's such fun to dress up for Easter . . . Jesus Christ rose on Easter.
Easter is an especially gay time for children. They are ecstatic with their job of coloring eggs and putting them somewhere convenient for the Easter bunny who will hide them. On Easter Sunday, they find the eggs and other goodies. What fun it is . . . Jesus Christ rose on Easter.
The point is that somewhere along the line the true meaning of Easter is being overlooked by many people. In reality, Easter is a happy occasion, but not because the Easter bunny is about to hide the eggs. The day isn't happy because we buy new outfits. Easter should be a day of humble happiness and solemnity . . . Jesus Christ rose on Easter.
