Keith Directs Lighting, Path
"Curtain up, light the lights!" is typical of the frequent cries echoing from Keith Johnson, the head director of lighting for such major school productions as V‑Show, Kiss Me, Kate, and the Senior Class Play.

Keith enjoys helping out in any worth‑while project, whether it's managing affairs at the Path or experimenting on a new idea for a science project.

Keith likes to explore in the field of science, and he especially likes to work with chemicals, no matter what difficulty they may lead him into.

A summer ago he was trying to solve our space problem by building a new type of rocket in a vacant lot behind his house. Before the rocket had a chance to prove itself, something went wrong before take off, and Keith seriously burned his hands. Upon being rushed to the hospital, he tried to figure out what went wrong.

Nothing stops a boy of destiny, for at the hospital he noticed that a closed circuit television camera was always watching him. Being camera shy, Keith put a cloth over the lens of the camera, which caused the camera to function improperly. Even though this caused a little confusion, it kept Keith smiling.

Keith hasn't changed any since then; he's still holding from the public his secret recipe for making a delicious type of caramel, which he enjoys eating most of the time.

"My proudest moment was becoming Vice‑President elect for Student Council," related Keith. Due to a schedule change, though, he was unable to hold this position.

At present, Keith is president of the Lighting Club, chairman of the Scholarship Committee for Key Club, Class Council representative, and an active member of the Thespian Society and Stagecrafters. Despite all these achievements, he maintains a "B" average.

"Keith has a good sense of humor," remarked John Hempel '64. "Once he gave me a Coke, but what he didn't tell me was that the glass he gave me had little unseen holes at the bottom. When I went to drink the Coke, half of it dripped onto my shirt."
