Diamondmen Moving Fast
Baseball at Maine West moved into full swing last week, with the Freshman and Sophomore squads joining the Varsity in pre‑season action.
The Varsity ball club was cut to the standard 24 ballplayers. Surviving Juniors are Dan Carlson, Chuck Curren, Dave Gnoske, Jerry Hanselmann, Stoney Jackson, Bob Kuhn, Mike Kuzich, Dan Makos, Ed Mormon, Mike Neese, Gordon Olson, Jim Smith and Bill Verber. With the first game less than two weeks away, Coach Carstens is working hard to get pitching, fielding, and hitting in shape.

The Sophomores are coached by Mr. Dave Kennedy. In their second season of baseball at Maine, they will be trying to defend the Conference championship held by last year's little Warriors.
