V‑Show Tickets On Sale;
Expectations Are High
"Without a doubt this year's Variety Show will be tremendous!" declared Davis Hall '64, student director. "We have a fine group of over 140 people working to make this V‑Show the best yet!"

Vicarious trips to England, Texas, France, and even Siberia will spotlight "Around the World," this year's theme for V‑Show. Among the 31 fabulous acts will be a percussion extravaganza and a rock 'n roll spectacular featuring Maine West's own guitar‑strumming folk singer, Jim Kahn '65.

"We hope to sell even more than the 3,000 tickets we distributed last year," revealed Paula Clayton '65, ticket chairman. Tickets for the show, which will begin promptly at 8 p.m., April 23rd, 24th, and 25th, are on sale in the bookstore and Maria Schaffer's Music Shop in downtown Des Plaines for $1.25 and $1.75. Every seat will be reserved.

"Although we are pleased with all of the acts, we are especially proud of our all‑star dance chorus," confided Betty Gano '64, V‑Show coordinator. Under the experienced direction of Linda Mahan '64, the chorus should be a tremendous success.

"Even if all the acts in V-Show were excellent, the presentation would be nothing without the help of our fine staff and the efforts of the Stagecrafters," admitted Davis Hall. "No small part of V‑Show's success will be due to the staff and scenery department, both of which are far superior to any we have ever had before."
Staff Working Hard

Under the superb direction of Davis Hall, student director, this year's V‑Show is bound to be an overwhelming success. Davis is the driving power behind the teaming mass of students who turned performers this year. Betty Gano '64, also gets the show in gear by performing her duties as coordinator. Producing the show will be Teri Prochaska '65, who will also organize the cast party to follow the Saturday night performance.

Acts will be swinging and swaying in accompaniment to the magic baton of Wayne Markworth '64, student music director, and the choreographic movements of Linda Mahan '65. Her assistants are Connie Lambrecht '66, and seniors Pam Barry, Anita Steinert, and Doris Taylor.

The superb creations of seniors Jean Alajoki, Neshan Keshian, and Alice Utter, costume designers, will enhance the sets originated by art directors Donna Lindboe '64, and Todd Riddell '64.

Stage manager will be Allan Tyler '64, and managing the Maine West lovelies, the Usherettes, is Donna Wolfe '64. Lighting the way will be Paul Hummel '66, lighting crew director. Taking care of tickets will be Paula Clayton '65; publicity, Ethel Koehler '65; and stage bills, Karen Rivard '64.

Giving the students professional guidance are faculty art director, Mr. George Blanas; director, Mr. Garth Boyer; music director, Mr. Robert Kuite; and leading the Stagecrafters, Mr. James Killam.

The make‑up crew will consist of all the drama classes, and the V‑Show band will provide music.
