Club Presents Horse Show Tonight
Did you ever see anyone carrying a shopping bag down the hall containing big boots, jodphers, and a crop; and wonder what's up? It's probably a member of the Pegasus Club. Anyone interested in horse‑back riding will certainly benefit by joining this organization.
The riders are picked up by bus at the school and taken to the Idle Hour Stables. Here they choose their own horses and ride for an hour, indoors or outdoors, according to the weather. A skilled instructor teaches both the basic and fine points of riding.
Toward the end of the school year, the club puts on a horse show. Much time and effort goes into making it a success. This year the show is set for April 17th, at 7 p.m.
"Everyone is invited to sit in comfort at the Horse Show held indoors at the large Idle Hour Stables," commented Mr. V. A. McElwain, sponsor. "Some attractions will be the famous Dolphin, a nationally known horse, clearing the bar in a high jump of six feet, and Maine West faculty members showing their skills at riding."
As any stagecrafter will tell you, the art of producing a play is not only interesting, but fun and hard work. Any success the V‑Show or any other stage production has had and will have can be attributed to the efforts of the Stagecrafters' Club.
Working behind the scenes with lights, curtains, props, and scenery all make the job of a stagecrafter important. Here he may gain valuable experience that may be used in later life work in the field of the theater or TV.
When a stagecrafter accumulates 100 hours or 10 points, he or she is eligible to be initiated into the Thespian Society, a national honorary organization.
