Step Into Spring '64
Go Casual With Fashion
White Is 'In'
Girls will look like girls in the new spring colors and textures. The casual, soft, and flowing look is the look for Spring '64; essentially, a long, easy top on a short, breezy skirt.

White is the newest color for coats and suits this spring, although soft pastels like blue-green, apricot, and raspberry‑pink are very popular. A suit without a blouse that does not match the lining, or without some sort of companion blouse hardly exists any more.

The shirtwaist never goes out of style, it seems, but the new A‑line shifts and empire or princess silhouettes reign in '64. Beautiful abstract prints add some spice and individuality to simple lines of these dresses, but pastels and basic whites are also luscious, allowing for more creativity with accessories.
The new and completely different idea this spring is the combining of stripes and prints. What used to sound and look revolting is now style.

Shoes take on a soft, luscious, yet dramatic look with short, simple heels, open sides, and softly rounded or squared toes. Shoes look the most when the color does not match that of the dress. With the new instant shoe‑coloring kits it's made easy. It's possible to have a "different pair of shoes" for every costume.

One word of warning about spring (or any other season) fashion - don't try to copy a model. Buy clothes that suit your personality, your skin complexion, your size-in short, you, not a Glamour or Seventeen fashion model. Get ideas from the models, adapt them to yourself, and you'll look like yourself.
