Single Photos Favored Over Group Pics
Individual photos were voted the most popular by the freshman and sophomore classes rather than group homeroom photos for this year's Legend.

Mr. Herman Rider, principal, requested a survey to be taken by the Legend to see whether or not the students would prefer individual student pictures, or homeroom group pictures, such as Maine East has been using for its yearbook.

The overwhelming results received from the students going to Maine West next year was 94 per cent for individual photos, and 6 per cent for homeroom group photos. The results from Maine South students were 84 per cent for individual student pictures and 16 per cent for homeroom group pictures. However, it is still hard to way which method will be used for Maine South's yearbook, because the student body will be comprised mostly of students from Maine East.
"Candid photos, Kiss Me, Kate, Election Week‑in all, 216 pages, comprising the largest Legend ever produced, will be offered to the students of Maine West," commented Mr. George Walker, sponsor.

"A new revolutionary cover, and end sheets will highlight the yearbook for Maine West," added Karen Rivard '64, Editor-in‑chief. Everything in this year's Legend has been kept top secret, until the date of release.

May 4th and 5th, during freshman and sophomore English classes, pictures will be taken for next year's Legend.
